Our story

From a folding joint to a board in your bag.

Twelve years, two boards, one pandemic and a lot of prototypes. Here's how we got here.

1. 2014

   The spark

   Paolo is a designer at Ducati Motor Holding. He starts experimenting with a folding system, with one idea in mind: an electric board small enough to carry in a backpack.

   
2. 2014–16

   Tested on the road

   Trips to Istanbul and Edinburgh become test runs for the idea. Then comes the first working prototype, and three more people: Cristiano, Stefano and Giovanni. Days and nights in a garage follow.

   
3. 2016

   Linky Innovation is founded

   The garage project becomes a company, and shoots its first film: a board, a backpack, a train.

   
4. 2017

   Linky 1.0 meets the world

   Linky 1.0 launches on Indiegogo and InDemand, and we bring it to Web Summit in Lisbon.

   
5. 2018

   On sale abroad

   Linky reaches its first riders through shops outside Italy.

   
6. 2020

   Stop, and start again

   COVID stops everything. We start again, receive the Smart & Start grant and bring production to Italy, in the Marche.

   
7. 2024

   Linky 2.0 on Kickstarter

   A new board: new design, new remote, more power. Linky 2.0 launches on Kickstarter.

   
8. 2025

   Into production

   Linky 2.0 comes to Indiegogo and production starts at our home in Monte Vidon Corrado.

9. 2026

   Today

   We design and assemble Linky in Monte Vidon Corrado, in the hills of the Marche. The people who build your board are the ones who answer your emails.
